So after 170 training sessions totalling 318 hours, covering a combined distance of 6,159km (3,827 miles) across the three disciplines, which has spanned 145 days, all that remains is The Smileathlon 2018 Challenge.
The best statistic I have for you has nothing to do with swim, bike and run; as of writing we have raised £3,605.00 for Mind and Samaritans charities. The total plus Gift Aid is £4,267.50. This represents 60% towards our target of £5,965.00. If you’ve watched my most recent video, you’ll fully appreciate the significance of the fundraising target.
Tomorrow also marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. A huge element of my Smilinggg mission is to progress the conversation surrounding mental health, and I hope this Smileathlon journey has gone someway in doing this also.
Before I sign off I’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported The Challenge so far. It means such a huge amount to me, and when the going gets tough, your generosity will keep me pushing on.

I’ll do my best to keep you updated with progress as the week unfolds.
