The last couple of days have been so much fun, running the snow dusted trails.
The conditions heighten ones senses - the wind chill on the cheeks, the crunching of snow and ice under foot, the harshness of a deep inhale on the back of the throat.
The frozen floor beneath forcing you to be here and now. Every footstep and each moment matters. Lose your mind to a thought, lose your body to the ice.
This realisation both humbling yet a strengthening of faith; with every icy passage successfully navigated.
The rich dividend for slowing down and treading mindfully, instantaneous too.
Frequent pauses in play, stopping to marvel at the surrounding views. A winter wonderland that reignites the childhood spirit within.
Yet to stay still for too long, a mistake. Nature’s way of encouragement - to keep moving forward, no matter how slowly you step.
A wonderful lesson in letting go. You adapt to the conditions, the conditions don’t adapt to you. An innate vulnerability that makes total sense.
Slowed pace, shortened stride with a strengthened smile.
