Don’t quit on the hill. ⛰
The hill could represent all sorts. We all have our own hills in life.
During 24-Hours of Smilinggg in December, the hill came around every half a mile or so.
Every time I started climbing the hill, and those steps; my mind was trying to compound the physical fatigue. Woe is me type mentality.
To win the battle, I would repeat “Don’t quit on the hill” or words to that effect.
“Reach the top and then quit.” Knowing full well that once you reach the top, the strain lifts and you’re ready to soldier on. False reassurance is a beautiful thing when you’re in the mire.
Whatever hill you’re staring up at right now, approach it with one step and one smile at a time. The hill won’t last forever. It can’t. Challenging times builds resilience, character and a true depth of compassion. And wisdom. The tools and armour to better cope with that next hill, when it so chooses to arise. You’ve got this 💪🏼

Great post James and I’m in total agreement.
My daughter has to tolerate daily injections for type 1 diabetes and the ups and downs of her blood sugar levels, carb counting and painful blood tests.
As I was running yesterday up muddy long hills feeling terrible and exhausted because of my own mental health issues, I told myself that if she never gets to give up then neither will I because this hill will end, her diabetes won’t.
Let the hill come to you!
