ANNOUNCEMENT : 24-Hours of Smilinggg

I’m delighted to report that I’ve been back running pain-free for a few weeks now, and it’s time I turn my attention to honouring this year’s Samaritans fundraiser before 2020 comes to a close.

I’ve made the decision to move the location from the running track circuit in Crowborough to a woodland trail circuit in Tunbridge Wells.

The 24-hours of #Smilinggg concept shall remain, with the entire 24-hour period spent navigating a technical woodland trail loop in an effort to cover as greater distance and elevation gain as possible within the allotted time.

The course profile is 0.43 mile with 107 feet of elevation gain per loop. I’ll share some photos and a video run-through of the course later this week.

A HUGE thanks for the donations prior to the postponement of the challenge. The current fundraising total for Samaritans Charity sits at £765 (inc gift aid). I look forward to kickstarting the fundraising again in the next few days too.

I fully appreciate times are challenging right now for us all and with Christmas around the corner, but every £1 donated is appreciated beyond words and helps Samaritans not only save lives through their free phone listening service, but also providing workplace training to help people take better care of their mental health at work, and also to support their campaign for more investment in national and local suicide prevention.

I’ll post the challenge date as soon as I can and I look forward to sharing both the build-up and the challenge itself with you via social media.

Ps. Thanks to the kind tree for taking today’s ‘candid’ running photo. I guess your branch covering the lens is equivalent to a humans finger 😜 📸 🌳 👈
